Aim: How did labor unions seek to improve working conditions during the Industrial Revolution?
Labor unions sought to improve working conditions during the Industrial Revolution. A union is a gathering of workers from all over the city to engage in collective bargaining, and anything that relates to work. This was done so by first, the acceptance of the Combination Act of 1824. The Combination Act of 1824 was an Act of Parliament that stated how unions were able to go on strike about better conditions in work, and many others. The year 1824 states the year in which that Act was passed by the Parliament, yet the Act was created around 1799 to 1800. Also in 1847, the Ten Hours Act was passed to help women and also children. This act disengages the amount of work time available for children and women which is ten hours.
